Michelle Hool
High School Teacher
Michelle Hool is a high school algebra teacher at Michigan Connections Academy (MICA). She graduated from Saginaw Valley
State University with a bachelor of science in secondary mathematics education and a minor in biology. Ms. Hool joined
MICA in 2011.
When asked why she became a teacher, Ms. Hool said, “I love math, and I enjoy helping others understand it. Helping a
student really understand a topic always makes my day! I love teaching at MICA because I am able to offer more
one-on-one attention to students than I was able to when I was in a bricks-and-mortar setting. Now I can spend the
majority of my day doing what I am passionate about: teaching and working with kids!
The benefit of teaching at MICA is that I am able to cater to my students’ learning style. I can offer remediation for
students who need it without holding back the rest of the class.
I love teaching at MICA because I am able to offer more one-on-one attention to students than I was able to when I was
in a bricks-and-mortar setting.

To those who are considering online schooling, my advice is to be prepared for a time of adjustment. Changing to online
schooling is a big change for a lot of families, so do not be afraid to ask questions!”
