Nicole is a Kindergarten teacher teaching all subjects at Lighthouse Connections Academy. She has been educator since 2017 and started working with Connections Academy since 2020. Ms. Ellis shares more below.

Why I Became a Teacher

I became a teacher because I had some very influential teachers as a child and I wanted to be the same kind of person to my future students. Teaching is hard work and heart work and it definitely takes a certain kind of person. I felt that I was that person and pursued my dream.

I love that the families are so supportive and involved with their child’s learning.

The Online School Experience at Lighthouse Connections Academy

An education at Lighthouse Connections Academy helps prepare students for a bright and successful future because we are preparing them for our technological workforce.

I love teaching at Lighthouse Connections Academy because although my students are 350+ miles away from me, we have built a family and community within my kindergarten class.

Message for Prospective Families Choosing Online School

The relationship between parents and teachers is more of a collaboration than it is in the typical classroom. It will take some getting used to, but with good communication and an excellent partnership with your child and their teacher, we can all be successful together.

Hobbies and Interests

When I am not educating my rock star kindergarteners, I love to go on walks with my dog named Bubba. I rescued him last year and it was the best decision, we are best friends! I also love to cook and bake when I have time. My family enjoys tasting my creations, especially the desserts!
