Marie Eschner

Coordinator of School Counseling

Marie Eschner began her role as coordinator of school counseling at Maine Connections Academy (MCA) in August 2017. She holds a master’s degree in college student personnel administration as well as in school counseling. With over 25 years of experience in education, Ms. Eschner has held a variety of roles, such as advisor, teacher, and director of guidance.

She says, “ I love working at MCA because my colleagues are professional, helpful, and caring, and I like the opportunity to serve students who need something different from what is offered by the traditional bricks-and-mortar school. MCA provides students a high level of interaction with their advisors and teachers, as well as more academic opportunities, especially in rural communities, where they may not otherwise have access to Advanced Placement®* or Honors courses. To parents who have a child who does not fit into the traditional school setting, I suggest that you give MCA a try. We strive to meet students where they are in their education and to help them build confidence and reach success.”

Outside of counseling, Ms. Eschner also loves cooking, kayaking, hiking, and gardening.
