Samantha Anderson
High School Science Teacher
Samantha Anderson is a high school science teacher at Iowa Connections Academy. Ms. Anderson earned her associate degree from North Iowa Area Community College and her bachelor’s degree from Waldorf University. She shares her teaching journey below:
“Becoming a teacher wasn’t always in my career path—I originally wanted to go to school to be a vet. Life took its course, and I had a professor recommend going to school to be a science teacher. I have always loved all things science and love the moments that my students experience in science when they find their passion or ‘aha!’ moments.
“I love the opportunities we get with our families and students. We have the ability to create lifelong memories with the whole family at Iowa Connections Academy. The benefit of teaching at an online school versus a brick-and-mortar is the flexibility in your schedule and ability to work more one on one with students instead of only large group settings.
We really get to know our students and their families, pets included, on a personal level.

“One of the best tools our students have is the technology they are getting exposed to every day. They get to leave us with a heavily technology-based education, which is where so many businesses/companies are headed. If there was one thing that I could tell a prospective parent as they are making the decision to enroll at Iowa Connections Academy it’d be that being new can be challenging and may be a bit overwhelming, but it is well worth it in the end to create an education for your student that fits them!”
In her spare time, Ms. Anderson loves spending time with her family the most. Together they enjoy camping, hiking, and traveling. She personally enjoys reading and cooking/baking!
