Why I Became a Teacher

I became a teacher because I didn’t like school growing up. Because of my experience, I decided to become a teacher who would show students that learning can be fun and help students fall in love with learning. I have a passion for working with kids and love helping them learn new things.

The Online School Experience at Iowa Connections Academy

The school community is special. It starts from the top—our school leader, Dr. Brauer, is kind and caring and takes an interest in staff. This allows teachers to feel important, and they can then turn around and try to make their students feel that way too.

Our school prepares students for bright and successful futures because teachers take the time to get to know students and encourage them in ways that appeal to them. The curriculum is rigorous, and teachers are dedicated to being the best they can be for their students.

I love working with Iowa Connections Academy because technology fascinates me. The world is always changing, and technology is becoming a huge part of that. I love getting to be a part of a program that is a step above in regard to its online teaching program.

The Benefits of K‒12 Online Learning

The benefit of online schooling is the ability to meet every student where they’re at. The online environment allows teachers to create relationships that allow them to pinpoint areas of strength and areas to work on in each student.
