Stephanie Austin is the manager of counseling services for Indiana Connections Academy (INCA). She worked as a special education program consultant for six years, and a high school guidance counselor for nine years. As the district began to grow rapidly, Stephanie became a leader for innovative programming, which included developing an online learning environment, creating a freshman center, and initiating unique curricular opportunities for students.
Ms. Austin says, “The virtual environment allows for counseling educators to be flexible and creative while maintaining a student-centered focus. School counselors are members of INCA’s support system to assist with social, emotional, or educational barriers to learning.
I believe having a positive attitude, giving a great effort, and showing enthusiasm helps to overcome the adversities of life. The counseling department is committed to student engagement, achievement, and graduation. INCA’s school counselors are an incredible resource for students as they navigate through their educational and career pathways.”
