Angela Cox lives in Brazil, Indiana, and she became a Learning Coach in 2011. Her son, Dakota, is a graduate of Indiana Connections Academy (INCA). Switching to INCA helped Dakota succeed, and the family appreciates the curriculum, flexibility, and teacher support that the school provided. Angela shares their story below.
"Our family joined Indiana Connections Academy in August 2011, and the school was the perfect fit for our family. My son was struggling socially and academically in his previous school and was bullied and teased due to his Individualized Education Plan (IEP), so we decided to place him in a virtual environment as a high school freshman.
The virtual school environment allowed for a high level of flexibility, which permitted us to schedule lessons around multiple weekly doctors’ appointments, which was especially helpful when the appointments were out of state. My son was able to keep up with his lessons from the hotel room after his appointments.
The curriculum was easily adaptable to my son’s IEP, and we were able to monitor his progress daily. In his previous school environment, we often would not realize our son was having difficulties until it was too late to remedy them. We are impressed by the ease and speed of communication from the INCA teachers. We highly recommend Indiana Connections Academy."
