Secondary School Advisory Teacher

C. Cook Jones is a secondary school advisory teacher and a math interventionist at Inspire, the Idaho Connections Academy. Mr. Jones holds a bachelor of science in computer engineering from Kansas State University. He joined Inspire in 2014 with five years of teaching experience. Mr. Jones shares his story below.

"Like many teachers, I was fortunate to receive a wonderful education from many caring educators. One of those educators reached out to me after college and encouraged me to join her school as a long-term substitute teacher. From there, I took my joy of working with kids and my love of mathematics, and worked to become a full-time math teacher.

I enjoy working at Inspire because I get to dedicate time to each individual student, something I rarely could do at my previous schools. I think education is headed in the direction of online learning, and I like being with the vanguard for this form of instruction. Teaching at an online school allows us to serve our students using data-driven best practices. Using the available information, we can pinpoint the areas of support necessary for student success. Additionally, our setting provides flexibility to families and allows us to serve students that might be left behind by bricks-and-mortar schools. Our most successful families interact with teachers on a daily basis. We have an experienced staff, and I encourage all families to take full advantage of this resource.”
