I began my college career wanting to become a mechanical engineer, but quickly learned that what fed my soul was helping and teaching others. I realized that at various points in my young life I was happiest when I could help someone learn and master something they felt they couldn’t do. This joy in witnessing students have their ‘aha’ moments led me to education and sticks with me to this day.
I first learned of Connections Academy in 2011 while teaching students who had dropped out of high school and returned to earn their diploma. What I love most about this school is being able to create a supportive environment that really allows students and their families to take an active role in their educational journey and flourish as a result.
