Christina Earwood is a high school literature teacher at Georgia Connections Academy (GACA). She began teaching in 2009 and joined GACA in 2013. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Georgia Southern University and a master’s degree in teaching from Kennesaw State University.
When asked about her background in teaching, Ms. Earwood said, “I became a teacher because I enjoy helping others set and achieve goals. I think of teaching as my way of serving and giving back to the community.
We are truly a family at GACA, and we are all focused on doing what is best for students. The benefit of teaching at an online school versus a traditional bricks-and-mortar school is that I have the opportunity to focus more on student achievement and less on behavioral interruptions.
To families considering joining GACA, it’s important to honestly evaluate the time and effort you and your student are willing to put into this program. You get out more than what you put in, but you have to have a plan.”
Aside from teaching at GACA, Ms. Earwood enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and friends. She also enjoys reading, hiking, and yoga.
