Why I Became an Educator
I became a teacher because of my own love for learning. I enjoy working with students, imparting knowledge, and facilitating learning. I have worked in a variety of grade levels and subject areas, both online and brick-and-mortar, but teaching at Coastal Connections Academy has been a privilege. Every day I get to work with like-minded colleagues who motivate me to do my best. I am always learning new things.
The Online School Experience at Coastal Connections Academy
I love teaching at Coastal Connections Academy because I can work with students individually, which I couldn’t do in a brick-and-mortar school. I can focus on addressing their individual needs without distraction. It's amazing how the relationships in the virtual setting are so strong. I enjoy being able to learn so much about the families that I work with.
I embrace the uniqueness of every student and guide them along the learning path that’s right for them, leading them to a future full of opportunity. Time spent with my students each week always includes the opportunity for peer interaction in collaborative groups. I love giving them the opportunity to solve problems together, talk to each other, discuss content, and laugh together. Watching my students form new friendships while engaging in the curriculum and learning new skills is the highlight of my day.
"Students are not only challenged to utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills that prepare them for school and work in the 21st century, but they also master time- management skills and productive study habits."
