Why I Became an Educator
I originally started my career as a social worker for children in Baltimore, Maryland. Eventually, I moved back to Florida, and I wanted to pursue a similar career where I could help children. A friend of mine encouraged me to start teaching. I immediately fell in love with it!
The Online School Experience at Coastal Connections Academy
The best part of teaching at Coastal Connections Academy is working with such a phenomenal team. All the teachers and staff are super dedicated and friendly. You would think that in a virtual setting, things would become impersonal, but it’s the complete opposite! I see and talk with my peers and students now more than I ever I did in a brick-and-mortar setting.
Student engagement is my main priority most days, and I encourage this by bringing lessons to a personal level. Talking one-on-one with students and getting to know them goes a long way. That rapport helps build a bond that encourages students to complete lessons on time, and even enjoy doing so!
"Education here at Coastal Connections Academy helps students for a bright future by really catering to individual needs and schedules. Our flexibility and massive support network make learning fun and comfortable for students."

My Interests
I am a huge movie buff and an avid gamer. My favorite director is Wes Anderson, and my favorite game is Super Smash Brothers. In fact, I've been part of the semi-pro circuit, winning several local tournaments! I also really enjoy animation, especially Japanese anime. I'm just a big kid at heart.
