Randi Sloan began her career in education in 2007 and joined Coastal Connections Academy in 2021. She currently serves as our Intervention Specialist and enjoys celebrating student successes.
Why I Became a Teacher
I have always wanted to be a teacher. When I was little, I would line up my stuffed animals and teach them everything I knew! Throughout my years in school, I was lucky to have many teachers who loved their careers and inspired me to continue this path. I am happiest when I feel that I have successfully shared my love of learning with my students.
The Online School Experience at Coastal Connections Academy
Teaching at Coastal Connections Academy affords me the opportunity to get to know families, not just the students enrolled in my class. It is also a phenomenal platform for reaching students individually or in small groups without the distractions of a bricks-and-mortar setting. I love that schooling in the online environment allows flexibility for our families to continue activities that may interfere with the traditional school day.
I enjoy fostering student engagement in my LiveLesson® sessions with fun activities and student interaction. Students are eager to share and are proud of their learning!
Message for Families Considering Online School
Although being your child’s Learning Coach can be challenging, you will truly be a part of their educational journey, which will prove extremely fulfilling for you both! Coastal Connections Academy utilizes a rich curriculum and we teach students to take control of their own education. It provides opportunities to be independent, take risks, and learn from mistakes.
Hobbies and Interests
I enjoy spending time with my family at the beach, walking along the river, and reading together.
