Florida Online Middle School Program

The On-Ramp to Success

At Florida Connections Academy (FCA), the middle school years are an exciting time as our students become more independent in their studies, taking on an increase in responsibility for their learning. FCA works hard to make sure our students see their own potential and recognize the many opportunities and possibilities open to them.

Rather than relying heavily on Learning Coaches, lesson directions are given directly to students, allowing parents to move into more of a supportive role. Our students are held to high standards as they take the lead in their studies and move closer to their high school years.

Support for Online Middle School Students

While our middle school students begin working directly with their highly qualified subject area teachers, they remain under the guidance of an advisory teacher or counselor for support. Actively participating in teacher-led instruction via our LiveLesson® tool, students are given the opportunity to work closely and communicate with their peers.

Online Course Electives and Activities

Students have access to a variety of subjects and activities within the middle school curriculum. Each student in our virtual program can choose from a variety of elective courses, school clubs and activities created to help them expand their horizons and further their social and teamwork skills. Clubs help our students remain well-rounded, giving them opportunities to write for the school newspaper, compete in the Mathematical Olympiads, and so much more. Gifted students can gain access to high school-level courses to start earning credit toward their high school education at their counselor’s discretion.
