Why I Became a Teacher

"I wanted to be a teacher from a very young age, and I never changed my mind. My mom was a teacher, a librarian, and an assistant principal, so that had a lot to do with my desire to be a teacher. I always loved playing school when I was little and helping my mom with different tasks for her classroom. I also always enjoyed working with kids through babysitting, coaching gymnastics classes, and tutoring.

I love the people at South Carolina Connections Academy! That is truly what makes this the best place to teach! The families are wonderful along with the other teachers that I work with. The benefit of teaching here is that there is time to work with students one-on-one where that is much more challenging in a brick-and-mortar school.
