Why I Became an Educator
I have always had a passion for mathematics and solving equations. In college, I was trying to figure out what to do with my life. What I did know was that I was MOST passionate about the math courses I was taking. Additionally, I was tutoring several students and loved it. At the end of my sophomore year in college, I decided to go into math education and I tend to think I made a really good choice.
Our students, I would say, complete schoolwork more independently than their bricks-and-mortar peers. I also feel confident our students learn the important ability of advocating for themselves very early on. Communication with teachers in the virtual environment is the key to success for many of our students. Our students learn very quickly that they will have regular dialogue with all their teachers and that they can and should always reach out when they have questions or need some additional support. In this environment, it also requires students to practice self-pacing to stay on track with lessons, and the ability to manage time, and create their own routine and schedule. This independence is something I feel is vital for life outside of high school, and I feel confident knowing our students are well-prepared.

There are far too many to list, but a few highlights would be the ability to complete school from home and being able to work on school work and lessons any time of day.
