Ryan Duft

Secondary Teacher

Ryan Duft is a secondary school teacher at Kansas Connections Academy (KCA). He holds a bachelor’s degree from Sterling College and a master’s degree from Emporia State University. He began teaching in 2002 and joined the Connections Academy team in 2011. Mr. Duft shares more of his story below.

“I had a great teacher in high school that motivated me to teach and help others. What I love about teaching at KCA is the great staff and families. The benefit of teaching in an online environment is that I have the opportunity to get to know the students better, and I can have more of an impact on their lives. We have a great, well-rounded curriculum that will help students gain the knowledge to be successful after they graduate. Our students have to take a great deal of ownership in their education, and they have to be self-motivated to do their work—two traits that will serve them well in being productive members of society.

This community is special because the staff is very passionate about the work that we do. Everyone from the staff, students, and caretakers take pride in making this a great place. KCA offers an outstanding curriculum and parents will not find a more caring and helpful staff to help them be successful as Learning Coaches.”

Aside from teaching, Mr. Duft enjoys spending time with his wife and three children who he says are the highlight of his day.

This community is special because the staff is very passionate about the work that we do.
