Jay Nicholson
Secondary Teacher
Jay Nicholson is a secondary school teacher at Kansas Connections Academy. He has more than 20 years of teaching experience and has been with Kansas Connections Academy since 2010. Dr. Nicholson holds both a master of science degree and a doctorate from Kansas State University. Dr. Nicholson explains why he enjoys teaching at Kansas Connections Academy:
“I enjoy helping other people learn about the wonders of the world that surrounds them. I love teaching at Kansas Connections Academy because I enjoy the personal contact that I have with my students and their parents. A benefit of teaching in an online school is that students feel more confident because they can ask questions without everybody else in the class knowing. Students are not distracted by classroom or school ‘drama.’ They can really focus on their studies and excel to the best of their abilities. There is nothing that stands in the way of students who are motivated and want to learn! They are free to ‘take off’!'
