Graduate Student

Brielle is a recent graduate of Indiana Connections Academy. She lives in West Harrison, Indiana. Her younger sister, Bailee, also attends Indiana Connections Academy. For Brielle, Indiana Connections Academy provided the flexibility she needed to explore the many ways in which she loves to help others. She shares her story below.

“Although previously I had only been homeschooled all my life, I feel that by attending Indiana Connections Academy, I was given the full ‘bricks-and-mortar’ school experience without the negative impact involved in most traditional schools. Indiana Connections Academy gave me a more flexible schedule that allowed me to keep up with classes while fulfilling my passion for helping others through 4-H, serving at a local food pantry, and attending mission trips. I am very involved in my church, and Indiana Connections Academy allowed me to have my own religious background and beliefs, which helped me to respect the beliefs of others and the curriculum at Indiana Connections Academy without feeling the need to compromise or disregard my own beliefs.

Indiana Connections Academy also helped me increase my confidence in myself. Before attending Indiana Connections Academy, I never knew that I would be in Gifted and Talented or accelerated classes. I was able to gain more confidence in myself while stepping out of my comfort zone and allowing myself to take on harder courses and more opportunities. These new challenges helped me realize that I want to go into the medical field. I am very grateful for the flexibility that my teachers at Indiana Connections Academy provided me. I was able to get the help that I need, in the way that I learn best. My teachers helped me understand material that I wouldn’t have understood without a little extra help.”
