Nicole Jones
Secondary Teacher
Nicole Jones is a secondary English teacher at Colorado Connections Academy. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English with an emphasis on secondary education and a minor in teaching from Metropolitan State College of Denver. Ms. Jones began teaching in 2003 and joined Connections Academy in 2011.
Ms. Jones was inspired by a former teacher to choose a career in education. She says, “One of my most influential role models was my teacher. When I asked him how I could ever repay him for the difference he made in my life he said, ‘Just try to do the same for someone else someday.”

Before coming to Colorado Connections Academy, Ms. Jones taught at a traditional bricks-and-mortar school. She explained what differentiates Connections Academy from her previous experience. “In a bricks-and-mortar school, I taught classes, but in the online environment, I get to teach individual students. As a result, rather than having to align my students to meet the needs of the curriculum, as I would at bricks-and-mortar school, here I get to align the curriculum to meet the various needs of each student. Everyone teaching at this school truly wants what is best for their students. We do everything we can to facilitate how the student achieves and defines their own success.”
