Why I Became a Teacher

“I come from a family of educators. Both of my parents are in education, and I also have numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in education. I really enjoy working with elementary students, helping them to develop a love of learning and building a strong foundation that will last them through their lives. I also enjoy helping students connect their passions to their education to help learning to be meaningful to them.

The Online School Experience at Colorado Connections Academy

I enjoy working at Colorado Connections Academy because it allows me to connect not only with the students but also with their families. It’s truly a partnership between myself and the students’ families to help support them in the schooling process. I love being able to work with students in a more personalized, one-on-one setting, which is very difficult to do at a brick-and-mortar school.

I take the time to get to know each of my students and their interests and passions, helping me foster engagement by showing them how the information in their courses will help them achieve their goals. I also encourage LiveLesson® attendance and host fun LiveLesson® sessions where students are able to get to know each other and complete fun activities like scavenger hunts and dance parties.

Throughout my time at Colorado Connections Academy, I’ve seen students that I taught in elementary school transition to middle school and high school and achieve success. The personalized approach to learning can be found throughout the entire K-12 school experience at Colorado Connections Academy.

“I enjoy working at Colorado Connections Academy because it allows me to connect not only with the students but also with their families. It’s truly a partnership between myself and the students’ families to help support them in the schooling process.”

Message for Prospective Families Choosing Online School

We work with families and students to develop the entire student, not just in academics. Students are able to enjoy outside activities and even compete at high levels while still working to achieve their academic goals. By partnering with teachers, students and families are able to personalize their learning, take courses that they are interested in, and achieve a successful future.

My Interests

In my free time, I love to read and often have a book with me wherever I go. I also enjoy watching sports and enjoying the beauty of Colorado. I’m a Colorado native and try to enjoy our beautiful state as much as possible.”
