“When I was little, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. Before I began teaching children, I worked for a software company where I taught adult classes on how to use the software. When I had my own kids, I went back to school to get my degree in education.
I love the staff at Connections Academy. I work with a great bunch of people, and I have the most amazing class this year. I taught first grade for six years. When I switched to teaching third grade, I have some of the same students that I had taught two years previously when they were in first grade. It was very cool to see how much they had learned and grown since they started school.
The benefit to teaching at an online school is that there is more flexibility, not only for me, but also for students and families. Teaching at an online school also gives you the opportunity to get to know your students and families much more than in a bricks-and-mortar school. It is amazing how well we get to know our kids.
One thing I would tell a prospective parent is that this is an amazing program!! Our program is a college prep program, and we have high expectations of all of our students. It is fun to watch the students grow.”
