Tatiana Malakhov is an elementary school student at Arkansas Connections Academy (ARCA). ARCA works for Tatiana because she figure skates with her brother, Peter, supported by the Memorial Figure Skating Club of Houston. She shares her story below:
“Arkansas is our primary home, but my brother and I also live in Houston, where we train at Ice Skate Memorial City. I love seeing my teachers online in LiveLesson® sessions and to receive personal attention on the phone if we have questions. My favorite subjects are science and history. They’re just fun.
“I love school and also love to figure skate. My brother is going to a national camp sponsored by U.S. Figure Skating. I hope to get there in the future. He’s a great inspiration and big brother. We have friends everywhere we go, from clubs at the library to friends at our rink, ballet, our apartment building in Houston, and definitely at our most loved museum, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, in Arkansas.
“My brother and I were previously homeschooled, and my mom still uses supplemental material. Our apartment in Houston is a mini-library.”
I love Connections Academy® because I’m able to follow my passions while attending school.
