Sarah Heath is science teacher at Arkansas Connections Academy (ARCA). She has been a teacher for more than 20 years, and joined ARCA in 2015. Mrs. Heath earned her bachelor’s degree in science education and her master’s degree in curriculum from Miami University. She plans to receive her doctorate soon. Sarah shares more about her teaching career below:
"At 13, I started teaching for a Sunday school, and I loved being able to teach others. My high school physics teacher, who was the national science teacher of the year, was so important in my decision to teach. I have taught for the middle school, high school, and college level. The best part is being able to see the “lightbulb” go off in the minds of young learners.
ARCA provides students with various opportunities that a traditional bricks-and-mortar school cannot offer, such as scheduling flexibility and one-one-time with teachers. By learning in a virtual setting, students get the chance to be one step ahead when they enter college since many college level courses are online."
When she’s not teaching, Mrs. Heath enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and continuing her education.
