Sarah Greenbank is a high school special education teacher at Arkansas Connections Academy (ARCA). She started teaching in 2019 and joined the ARCA community. Ms. Greenbank has a bachelor’s degree in special education from Western Governors University. She shares her teaching story below:
“Prior to teaching, I worked as a certified nurse assistant (CNA), which led me to work in mental health with children and adults,” said Ms. Greenbank, “and then into supporting children and adults with developmental disabilities in a home setting. I began working as a paraprofessional in special education classrooms in 2012 and decided that I wanted to pursue my teaching degree and enrolled at Western Governors University in 2017. This is my first year of teaching!
“I’m excited about teaching in an online environment! I enjoy the online environment because I can devote more time to helping my students with their individual needs. ARCA prepares students for success by providing an excellent education. We have the opportunity to take field trips all over the state. This gives us a great opportunity to see all the amazing things our state has to offer. Online learning offers students a flexible learning environment where students can succeed.”
In Ms. Greenbank’s spare time, she enjoys reading and crocheting. She also has a husband, a son, and two dogs.
