Kyle Wilson is an economics, social studies, and civics teacher at Arkansas Connections Academy. Mr. Wilson started teaching at Arkansas Connections Academy in 2018. He earned two degrees from the University of Arkansas: a bachelor of arts in history with a political science minor, and a bachelor of science in social studies with a teacher licensure. Mr. Wilson shares his story below:
“There are a few reasons I became a teacher. My parents are both retired teachers, are numerous other members of my family, so I come from an education background. I wanted to impact young people’s lives the way mine was impacted by the many great teachers I had from elementary school to college.
I love teaching at Arkansas Connections Academy because I get to spend more one-on-one time with my students. The greatest benefit of online school is that I can give my students so much more individualized attention and instruction, whereas in a brick-and-mortar classroom of twenty-five to thirty kids, that’s not possible. Students are prepared for a successful future with our rigorous curriculum, individualized instruction, and many great social opportunities.
Away from school, I spend time with my beautiful wife Ashley. We have two dogs named Scooter and Addie, as well as a hamster named Norman. I referee high school football, basketball, baseball, softball, and volleyball. I also love to travel and scuba dive. A fun fact some people don’t know about me is that I lost an eardrum on my first ever dive trip to Cozumel, Mexico, in 2013. When I’m not bursting eardrums in the Caribbean, I also play golf when I get the chance.”
Arkansas Connections Academy isn’t just another school; it’s a family that will help prepare your child for a successful future.
