Kim Cristerella became a teacher at Connections Academy in 2015 and has recently joined Arkansas Connections Academy (ARCA). Ms. Cristerella earned her Bachelor of Science degree in business management and has been teaching since 2002.
“I didn’t set out to become a teacher, but after working for almost twenty years in the corporate world, I needed a career change. Thankfully, I happened to run into the high school teacher who’d had the biggest impact on me. She never let me just get by in her class; she challenged me, set expectations, and held me accountable. She treated me with respect and taught me so much more than language arts. She taught me to love school. Running into her that fateful afternoon was just the push I needed. I wanted to be just like her. I went back to school and earned my teaching credential.
I love teaching at Connections Academy because I love working with such a diverse group of students and teachers. I spend more quality time with my students in the virtual environment than I ever did with my students in a brick-and-mortar classroom. I get to know them better and can personalize my lessons to fit their needs and interests. That keeps them involved and wanting to learn more. Our schools are accredited, our teachers are state licensed, and we care about our students.
If you want a quality education with caring teachers, look no further!”
In her free time, Ms. Cristerella enjoys spending time with her family, taking care of their chickens, and watching Notre Dame football.
