Jessica Traylor is an elementary school teacher at Arkansas Connections Academy (ARCA). She started her teaching career in 2012 and joined Arkansas Connections Academy in 2019. Ms. Traylor graduated from College of the Ozarks with an elementary education degree with an early childhood emphasis. She shares her story below:

“I became a teacher because I knew that I wanted to make a difference in someone’s life,” Ms. Traylor said. “Being a teacher, I am able to help inspire children to reach their full potential. I believe that each student can succeed and thrive in some way. I want to help them see that in themselves and overcome what life hands them. Their destiny is in their hands, and it starts when they are young! I love seeing a child realize his or her potential and start using it!

“I already love the people I work with and their eagerness to help others succeed. An ARCA education helps students see that there is more than one way to accomplish their goals,” Ms. Traylor said. “At ARCA, students get to personalize their learning based on their interests and future plans. This helps them learn at an earlier age if it is truly something they want to invest in for after high school graduation. ARCA staff put their hearts into helping each child receive the education that pushes each child to succeed.

“I knew within minutes of stepping into the professional development room that the ARCA community was a family. As the week progressed, the staff made me feel more and more like it was where anyone could belong. The leaders and teachers at ARCA truly want to put the students’ best interests in front of everything else. Nothing is more important in the ARCA community than the success of each and every one of the students that are enrolled in our school!”

In Ms. Traylor’s spare time, she enjoys being outside; swimming; and playing Mario games, board games, and yard games. One of her favorite things to do is hang out with her husband watching movies and cuddling with her pets. She is also a middle child of five and loves being around people and celebrating birthdays.
