Felicia Myers is a science teacher at Arkansas Connections Academy (ARCA). Ms. Myers joined ARCA In 2018, but began teaching after she completed her master of arts in teaching from Harding University in 2016. Her teaching experience is shared below.
“I love teaching at Arkansas Connections Academy for many reasons! I have access to an award-winning curriculum that is full of real-world applications and interactive tools. This allows me to focus my time and attention towards working individually with students to enhance their learning and tailor lessons to their specific needs. Also, I’m able to maintain more consistent communication with parents to promote their active involvement in their student’s education. Lastly, I work with an amazing group of administrators and teachers who continually strive to improve our school and accommodate the needs of all students.
Arkansas Connections Academy offers students a flexible environment where students can work at their own pace free of distractions. Our goal is to ensure that all students are well prepared for their future endeavors. We offer a variety of courses that allow students to learn at an appropriate level, explore different careers, and determine their subject area of interest. Throughout their daily activities, students are learning to proficiently use various forms of technology and are gaining many transferable skills which include: communication, dedication, persistence, self-discipline, and self-motivation.
When I am not teaching, I am caring for my two young children, crafting, exploring nature, gardening, listening to music, singing, or spending time with my husband.”
I want to help prepare students for stable and meaningful careers.
