Elsa Coddington is an elementary school teacher at Arkansas Connections Academy (ARCA). Ms. Coddington joined ARCA in 2018 but has been teaching since 2006. She has a bachelor of science degree in early childhood education and a master’s degree in education: curriculum and instruction. Her educational experience is shared below:
“From the time I was a little girl in my imaginary classroom until I entered college, I knew I was supposed to be a teacher. I had many teachers who gave me lifelong friendships and memories. I struggled early on in my education, and there were very wonderful teachers who took the time to see me as an individual and help me learn. That has always been my goal: to connect with each one of my students to give them success.
Online schools focus on the learning of the whole child. They place importance on individual students and their learning goals. The student is online and has his or her teacher’s undivided attention.
In the twenty-first century, people have to navigate a virtual world. At ARCA, students are prepared for this virtual world. Our school community is so special because we classroom members may be miles apart, but we are in each other’s lives daily. Do it! It is the best decision that you will make for your child. The environment is the safety of your home, but the experiences are boundless. You can oversee your child’s education like never before.
I enjoy being with my family, which includes my husband and children. We love to watch movies and go to our kids’ games. We also enjoy our church family and all the church functions.”
I love the fact that I am able to do what I love most, and that is to teach children and watch them learn and grow.
