Jody McInerney is a high school teacher at Arizona Connections Academy (ACA). She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Missouri-Columbia and her master’s degree in science education from California State University Long Beach. She joined ACA in 2005 and shares more about herself below:
“I came to teaching from another career when there was a shortage of science teachers because I loved biology and environmental science and wanted to share that with students. Science is one of those areas where there are constantly new and interesting discoveries going on.
I love the opportunity we have to work one on one with students and help them overcome obstacles to be successful in learning. Online learning is unique because students are separated from teachers by time and location. It is our job to identify areas where students need support in learning and help them develop skills they can use in classes they take later in high school and beyond graduation.”
