Jennifer Van Dyck
Jennifer is a 11-year-old fifth grader from Wisconsin Connections Academy (WCA). She lives in De Pere, Wisconsin. Jennifer enjoys gymnastics, swimming lessons and martial arts classes. She tells her story below.
“Hello, my name is Jennifer Van Dyck. My favorite subject is Language Arts. I enjoy reading all the different kinds of stories and doing the projects that go along with it. The spelling book is fun too. I’m a good speller and like taking spelling tests. The stories always tell you about the author and illustrators, and other books they have worked on. When I really like a story, I then go to the library and read other books by that author. It’s a good way to keep on reading!
I get really excited when we get to go on field trips for school. We have been to places like local theaters to see dancers and singers, museums to learn about dinosaurs and magicians, boat rides on the river, the zoo, and many more adventures. For example, we visited the Kickapoo Valley Reserves, which you may see in my picture. We have field trips going on all school year and I think you can learn tons of things outside of the classroom.
Outside of school, I love to plant and learn about flowers. I love to swing and play in our backyard. I attend gymnastics, swimming lessons, and martial arts classes at the local YMCA.”
