Aspen Romrell is a high school student at Utah Connections Academy (UCA). She lives in Salt Lake City. Aspen enjoys learning in UCA’s welcoming and supportive academic environment. Learn more about her story below.
Aspen was homeschooled up until high school, when her family began looking for a new alternative to the traditional bricks-and-mortar school. She and her family attended a seminar at UCA and decided that it was the right place for them. Aspen is thriving in UCA’s online learning environment. Her mom, Marcie, loves that the teachers are dedicated to their students, and are easy to contact through WebMail or over the phone. Marcie also loves that she can participate in her daughter’s learning and help her stay on track.
Aspen enjoys that she is able to learn at her own pace and move ahead on her lessons. She also enjoys the LiveLesson® sessions, where she can interact with her teachers and peers. Aspen is able to see her friends from UCA on school field trips, as well as outside of school.
Not only are Aspen’s teachers passionate about helping their students, but they have also inspired her to become a math teacher when she is older.
I love UCA because I found something really special—a friendly environment full of teachers and students who accept me for who I am and encourage me to be myself.
