Just step into one of our biology classes . . .

In Monday’s LiveLesson® session, experienced biology teacher Ms. Freeland leads a class discussion on Texas' indigenous plant and animal life. Then, using the clues provided by Ms. Freeland and their Biology: The Dynamics of Life online text, students classify local fauna and considers the impact of climate on the region's ecology. By Friday, students, their families and teacher will take their lessons on the road for a scheduled field trip to the local nature reserve to observe firsthand the interplay of ecology on plant and animal life. Finally, on their own schedules, students are using Froguts, a virtual dissection tool, to better understand where biology, anatomy, and ecology converge.

Texas Connections Academy @ Houston is approved to serve 9th and 10th grades beginning in the 2011–12 school year. Space is limited to 450 students and tentative for new students pending budget discussions after the legislature released finalized budget formulas. The approved course list for TCAH's 9th and 10th grades is on our High School Courses page. Connections Academy will continue to work through the TxVSN course approval process to expand the course offerings.
