Technology
Oregon Connections Academy families may receive the following:
- One desktop computer per household for households with students enrolled in grades K–8: View a description of our standard desktop systems.
- Households with students enrolled in only grades 9–12 must provide their own computer unless they request and qualify for a technology hardship exception*.
- Subsidy for Internet service: Households must provide their own Internet connection unless they request and qualify for a technology hardship exception*. Households that qualify will receive an Internet subsidy of $50.85 while actively at the time of disbursement. Payments are made three times a year: the first week of December, the first week of March and the first week of June. Families not enrolled for the entire payment period will receive a pro-rated payment. Subsidies are not available during the summer months.
We also offer comprehensive technical support for the systems we provide and complete information on proper usage of hardware and software.
Using Your Own Equipment
- Oregon Connections Academy households will need to provide their own printer.
- If you use your own computer, be sure your system meets our minimum system requirements.
* Households must apply for hardship exceptions when they enroll. To qualify, they must meet federal guidelines for free lunch and not have access to any hardware being requested.
