Tuition-free eSchool from Home

Ohio Connections Academy (OCA), a tuition-free, K–12 public eSchool that students attend from home, brings a fully accredited public education directly to your family’s door—anywhere in Ohio. OCA is the only statewide Ohio eSchool rated Excellent in 2010 by the Ohio Department of Education.

Authorized by the Ohio Council of Community Schools

Authorized under state law by the Ohio Council of Community Schools, OCA is a nonprofit corporation operating through a contract with Connections Academy of Ohio, LLC, to provide its educational program and other services. The school is governed by an independent Board of Directors and all meetings are open to the public. Please review our scheduled meeting dates, agendas, and information on how to attend a meeting or make a request for public records.

The school prepares an annual report in accordance with state regulation. A copy of the report may be obtained by contacting the school.

The Ohio Department of Education will hold an onsite review of OCA's Special Education program, on March 22nd and 23rd. Review details of the meeting.

Under his leadership, OCA has grown from 150 students in grades K-8 to more than 2,700 students enrolled in grades K-12. He also has led the school to an “Excellent” rating from the Ohio Department of Education for increasing student achievement and exceeding state standards for quality.

Mr. Lambert received the award during the Association’s 2010 State Conference for his contributions to increasing student achievement and enhancing the quality of education within Ohio’s charter schools.

In May 2011, Mr. Lambert won an award for Outstanding Leadership by an Individual in the Field of Distance Learning. He received the award  during a ceremony in conjunction with USDLA's 2011 National Conference in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the only recipient of the award in the online technology/pre K–12 category.

“Ray is focused on student achievement, continually challenging his staff to move students forward,” said Christy Lamb, assistant high school principal for OCA. “Ray is patient, fair, consistent and compassionate, and his leadership has moved OCA to excellence.
