Oklahoma Connections Academy Enrollment Now Open for 2013–14 School Year

BARTLESVILLE, OK (January 11, 2013) – Oklahoma Connections Academy, a K–12 tuition-free virtual public school, is now holding open enrollment for the 2013–14 school year. Oklahoma Connections Academy, which operates in partnership with Copan Public Schools, provides an innovative, high-quality, highly accountable K–12 online education options.
Enrollment for the 2013–14 school year will be open through March 31, 2013. Families with students wishing to attend Oklahoma Connections Academy in the 2012–13 school year will need to submit an Open Transfer Application.
Now in its second year, Oklahoma Connections Academy serves more than 510 students throughout the state. The online education model provides a customized learning approach that gives each student individual instruction based on his or her skill level. Oklahoma Connections Academy combines state-certified teachers with a curriculum that meets rigorous state education standards. Students have the ability to modify their learning style to meet their personal education needs.
Oklahoma Connections Academy will host free information sessions throughout the state for students and parents to learn more about the online program. Information sessions provide an opportunity for families to meet with Connections Academy teachers and learn about the enrollment process. Other topics covered include: how teachers interact with students in the virtual environment, personalized learning opportunities including options for accelerate learning and gifted programs, college preparation, socialization, the role of the parent or other Learning Coach, and the use of technology.
