Capistrano Connections Academy Welcomes New Principal
William A. Crockett joins virtual school in the 2011–12 academic year
ALISO VIEJO, CA (September 19, 2011)—Capistrano Connections Academy, a tuition-free online public school serving students in grades K–12 throughout Southern California, announces the hire of William Crockett as school’s new principal. Crockett, who has a master’s degree in educational leadership, brings 15 years of experience in middle and high school education with an extensive background in technology, education leadership and independent learning.
As principal, Crockett will work alongside the teachers and administrators to continue building upon the school’s learning model that provides students with a personalized curriculum. Chartered through Capistrano Unified School District, Capistrano Connections Academy offers an innovative, proven curriculum and a flexible learning environment. California-certified teachers teach the courses, which are customized to meet the learning needs of each individual student. One of Crockett’s main focuses as principal is to ensure the virtual school continues to maintain maximum communication on all fronts by further building relationships between parents, teachers and students.

Prior to joining Capistrano Connections Academy, Crockett served as the secondary principal at Monterey High School in Monterey, Calif. He also served as the chairman for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges Self-Study committee, where he was responsible for high school online learning courses. Crockett completed his undergraduate degree at Pepperdine University and then obtained his Master of Arts degree from Point Loma Nazarene University.
