"I am honored to serve as the new Principal of Nevada Connections Academy. My hope for every student is that they have a positive learning experience in a setting that supports their individual learning style. I am a strong advocate of alternative education programs that meet the needs of our diverse population. I truly believe that Nevada Connections Academy is a high quality program that provides opportunities for students to achieve success in a nurturing and supportive environment. Students have the opportunity to explore areas of interest and learn material in a variety of ways.
I began my career in education in 2000, as a high school Science Teacher at a charter school in northern California where I later served as an administrator. I joined Nevada Connections Academy in June of 2010 after being a high school Principal for five years on the Oregon coast. I earned an A.S. degree in Geology from Sierra Community College, a B.S. degree in Paleobiology from the University of California, Davis, and a M.Ed. in Cross-Cultural Teaching from National University. I enjoy spending time with family, fishing, hiking and playing the fiddle!"
