Theo Menon

MTSMCA Student

Theo is a 14-year-old freshman at MTS Minnesota Connections Academy (MTSMCA). He lives in Rogers, Minnesota. Outside of school he enjoys singing in a choir, playing the clarinet and piano. He likes fencing, skiing and writing codes. When Theo grows up he would like to be a lawyer. Below is his story in his own words.

“I sing in choirs, play the piano and clarinet. I also spend a good deal of time traveling around the world with my parents. My mom took me to an MTSMCA meeting right before the school year started last year and I was intrigued with what was offered. I liked the idea of schooling from home but still having teachers and classmates. MTSMCA meets both those needs. I can have a very quiet home environment, but still interact with other kids and with teachers.

What I like most about MTSMCA is I get to interact with the teachers much more than I did in my brick-and-mortar school classroom. My MTSMCA teachers seem happy to work with me one-on-one, when I need it. They are always encouraging me. The classes and the LiveLesson® sessions are very interesting and enjoyable.  Also, the interaction between the students and teachers is really fun!”

Congratulations Theo!

Theo was recently selected as a member of the Board for the MacPhail Center for Music’s Teen Advisory Council for the 2011-12 academic year. Way to go Theo!
