Michigan Connections Academy Students

Meet some of our students to see what they accomplish when given the tools to learn and the freedom to grow.

At MICA, students don’t have to sacrifice a quality education to pursue their individual interests, talents, or needs. They can, and do, have it all with a program that embraces life beyond the classroom. Whether students are pursuing athletic or creative talents or addressing personal challenges, MICA’s individualized learning approach empowers students to reach their personal best—in the classroom and beyond.

Speaking of impressive students . . .

MICA high school students helped launch their own Debating History Club this year with help from our social studies teacher, Mr. Bonkoski. Students research and informally debate historical topics.

Says Mr. Bonkoski, “The thing that impressed me the most is that the kids came to me with the idea and took it upon themselves to get it organized. It's just one example of how MICA can extend students' interests outside the regular curriculum into other areas.”
