Michigan Connections Academy Enrollment
Michigan Connections Academy has two programs for the 2012–13 school year:
- Michigan Connections Academy—a virtual school serving grades K–12.
- Fusion Academy of Michigan—a site-based program focused on serving students who terminated their high school education prior to graduation.
Michigan Connections Academy Enrollment
- Michigan Connections Academy has an initial enrollment cap of 615 students.
- Students in grades from Kindergarten through 12th grade are eligible.
Michigan Connections Academy Enrollment Cap
A lottery was conducted to select students for enrollment in grades K - 8. Students not selected will be placed on a waiting list and released to enroll if space becomes available in their grade, based on the date that all enrollment tasks were completed. Students who were selected have until June 25th to submit academic documents for course placement or forfeit their space to a student on the waiting list.
Grades 9 – 12 are full with returning students. No lottery will be conducted. Students will be placed on a waiting list and released to enroll if space becomes available in their grade based on when all enrollment tasks except course placement were completed.
We anticipate some places will become available for all grades after June 30, the deadline for current students to let us know if they will return for next year. Additionally, MICA can enroll one student for every student enrolled in Fusion Academy of Michigan next year. We anticipate this will be approximately 120 students. These enrollments will occur near the beginning of the school year.
Fusion Academy of Michigan Enrollment
Fusion Academy of Michigan has an enrollment cap of 300 students.
- Students must be in grades 9 through 12.
- Students must be coded as a student who left school before completion of the 12th grade in the Michigan Student Data System.
- Students must commit to attending this site-based program five (5) days per week.
- Students must have completed all enrollment tasks to be included in the lottery if one is necessary.
