Career Ladder for Teachers
Connections Academy rewards high performing teachers by providing the
opportunity for growth and advancement in a career ladder position. The purpose
of the Connections Academy Career Ladder is to enhance educational opportunities
and achievement for all students by providing teachers with an opportunity for
professional growth and development. Additionally, the Career Ladder provides
exceptional teachers a comprehensive management approach that includes a range
of incentives and accountability mechanisms to reward successful completion of
advancement plans.
Each career ladder position represents an increase in both responsibility and
authority. The precise duties and areas of responsibility will depend on the
individual’s unique strengths and skills as well as the school needs. This will
be decided by the employee’s supervisor, usually a principal. As teachers grow
in their skills, leadership ability and knowledge of the Connections Academy
program and virtual education, the three levels of the Career Ladder provide an
opportunity for professional advancement and a corresponding increase in
compensation.
Each position on the career ladder includes increased responsibility and
financial reward for those who are selected and who are successful.
Connections Academy is constantly growing, expanding, and evolving. As we
continue to develop our schools, we look to our foundation of excellent teachers
to take on leadership roles and help mold our future.
All Connections Academy teachers are required to be properly
certified or licensed in the appropriate state, subject, and/or grade
levels.
