Cassadie Ropp
Cassadie Ropp is a 17-year-old junior at INSPIRE, the Idaho Connections Academy. She lives in Kuna, Idaho. Cassadie has been a student at INSPIRE for three years. She says when she grows up she wants to “continue my volunteer work. I really want to travel to other states and countries.”
Together with her parents, Cassadie decided that traditional schooling presented unsavory and potentially damaging associations. Her parents say that "online schooling with INSPIRE offers a controlled environment allowing her to cultivate the kind of relationships she can be proud of".
Cassadie is passionate about her volunteer work with the deaf community. She has been learning American Sign Language for one-and-half years and meets weekly with the deaf and other volunteers. Weekly she spends time during the normal school week with her best friends who also volunteer. She truly enjoys the scheduling flexibility that INSPIRE affords. Cassadie’s sister recently had a new baby boy who Cassadie will be babysitting during the summer, along with his four-year-old brother.
Unlike her former online school, Cassadie appreciates that she has individual teachers for each subject. For the past three years, Cassadie’s favorite subject has been english and it is also her best, despite having once told her teacher it was her “goodest subject”. She is currently in honors English and is scheduled to take it again her sophomore year. She is excited that she will be graduating a semester ahead of schedule, due to the flexible self-paced schedule of online schooling.
