Ms. Poe is an elementary school teacher at FLVS Full Time. She began teaching in 2001 and has been teaching at FLVS Full Time since 2003. Ms. Poe received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and her ESOL endorsement from Florida Atlantic University.
When asked why she became a teacher, Ms. Poe responded this way:
“I made the decision to become a teacher early on, as a result of the positive influence my teachers had on me growing up. I enjoyed school very much as a child, and I continue to keep in touch with my previous teachers from elementary and high school. I strive to develop that same relationship with my students in a virtual environment so that they will look back and believe I made an impact.
I love teaching at FLVS Full Time because it affords me the opportunity to get to know not only my students, but their families as well. I have the opportunity to individualize student learning and utilize new amazing educational programs and resources. Students can achieve great success when parents, teachers, and students work together toward a common goal!
If there was one thing that I would tell prospective parents interested in joining our program, it would be this: do it! It is the toughest job you will ever love!”
