Enrollment is now closed for the Spring Semester of the 2011–12 school year in the FLVS FT Public Program. The FLVS FT Home Education program will accept applications through February 17, 2012. The Spring semester begins on January 23, 2012.

Important Deadlines: Spring Semester enrollment for FLVS FT Public Program closed on January 13, 2012. All enrollment documents must be received by January 19, 2012. The last day to complete final confirmation and enroll your student is January 20, 2012.

Newly enacted legislation expands access to full-time virtual education for the upcoming school year. Most
students who are currently enrolled in a Florida public school can now be enrolled directly in the FLVS
Full-Time program in grades K–12 (with a diploma option to be available in 2012–13).

Any student entering grades K–1 or 6–12 can now be enrolled directly
in the FLVS Full-Time program, regardless of whether they were previously enrolled in a Florida
Public School. Students entering grades 2–5 must have been enrolled as a Florida public school student
for the 2010–11 school year or meet other eligibility requirements.

Families have the option of enrolling in either the FLVS FT Public Program or FLVS FT Home Education
Program (for grade 6–12 only). Both options have the same high quality curriculum and teachers but offer
different features to meet the desires of Florida families and have different eligibility requirements.

We encourage you to review the updated information on our website and begin the online enrollment process
in the program that meets the needs of your student and family.School Districts will also be offering virtual
schooling options and you can contact your local district to see what other options are available.

Florida Virtual School and Connections Academy, both long-time leaders in online learning, have joined forces to become Florida Virtual School Full Time or “FLVS FT.” Connections Academy's mission is to help each student maximize his or her potential and meet the highest performance standards through a uniquely individualized learning program.

Florida Virtual School Full Time provides a new form of school that students can attend from home. This unique program combines

the expertise and accountability of publicly funded education,
strong parental involvement,
and the flexibility of online classes.

FLVS FT is a K–12 virtual school that is approved by the Florida Department of Education and the Florida Legislature. There are specific legislative and regulatory limitations concerning eligibility and availability to students in Florida. See our About Us page for more information. We offer two programs for the 2011–12 School Year. Families have the option of enrolling in either the FLVS FT Public Program or FLVS FT Home Education Program (for grades 6–12 only). Both options have the same high quality curriculum and teachers but may have different eligibility requirements and offer different features to meet the desires of Florida families.

^*FLVS FT Public Program will be accepting students in Kindergarten - 12th grade in the upcoming school year. A diploma option will be added for the 2012–13 school year enabling the first FLVS FT Public graduating class of 2013.

¹Non-public school students may be eligible for grades 2–5 through special exceptions for siblings of students who were enrolled in a full-time virtual instruction program through their district during the previous school year or meet the criteria for children of members of the U.S. Armed Forces.
