Florida Virtual School Full Time Enrollment
Enrolling for the 2012–13 School Year
We offer two programs for the 2012–13 school year:
- Public Program Students: Our Public Program is available to students in grades K–12 statewide who are Florida residents* (also see Eligibility). Students who select this program will be enrolled in Florida Virtual School as the student’s school district of record, and students will receive a school report card and diploma from FLVS. Students must meet all public school requirements for attendance and standardized test participation. Students will also need to attend full-time with 6 courses per semester for grades 6–12 or equivalent for K–5.
- Home Education Program Students: A full-time or part-time selection of courses in grades 6–12 is available to any Florida resident student. (See Eligibility for more information.) Students in this program are considered “Home Education” students. Students are required to register as Home Education students with their resident school district. There are no other eligibility requirements to participate, and students are not required to take the FCAT, nor are high school students required to complete any Florida End-of-Course Assessments or graduation requirements. Home Education students are not eligible to receive a diploma from Florida Virtual School or for any other services that may be provided to public school students. Students do follow a standard school calendar. Additional courses for students in grades 6–12 who want a more flexible schedule than the FLVS FT 6–12 program provides are also available through Florida Virtual School. How to Enroll
- Step 1. Eligibility: Check the eligibility requirements to be sure your student is eligible to participate in our program.
- Step 2. Apply: Select your program and complete the online enrollment forms.
- Step 3. Documents: Log into Connexus®, our education management system, to see what documents you need to submit (e.g., birth certificate, proof of residency, report card, etc.) and send to us via:
- Step 4. Verification: Log into Connexus regularly to see the verification status of your documents and review your student’s enrollment status.
- Step 5. Final Confirmation: Once you log into Connexus and click the “Final Confirmation” link, you are enrolled! We will ship your free course materials and assign your student’s teachers.
Enroll Online
To enroll online, you need an e-mail address and regular access to a computer to create an account with us, and to provide us with information about your student(s) and family.
If you are currently enrolled in one of our programs and want to enroll an additional student, do NOT use this online enrollment process. Please contact the Enrollment Team through WebMail in Connexus.
Enroll by Mail or Fax
For the fastest enrollment experience, we always encourage our families to complete the enrollment process online. However, if you do not have an email address or regular access to a computer, you may enroll through our offline process. Complete the Enrollment Package Request form to have an enrollment package mailed to you.

Some school districts use FLVS FT as a provider for their district Virtual Instruction Program. Students who elect to remain residents of their school district but participate in the FLVS FT program are referred to as FLVS FT VIP (Virtual Instruction Program) students. This option is only available for participating districts. Check with your local district to see what other options are available to you.
*Subject to final rules issuance by the FLDOE concerning recently enacted legislation removing eligibility requirements for students entering grades 2–5.
