Enrolling for the 2011–12 School Year

Enrollment is now closed for the Spring Semester of the 2011–12 school year for the FLVS FT Public Program. Enrollment for the Spring Semester in FLVS FT Home Education Program remains open until February 17, 2012.

Important Deadlines:

Public Program

Spring Semester enrollment for the FLVS FT public program closed on January 13, 2012.
All enrollment documents must be received by January 19, 2012.
The last day to complete final confirmation and enroll your student is January 20, 2012. The Spring Semester begins on January 23, 2012.

Home Education Program

Enrollment for the second semester must be completed by February 17, 2012.

We offer two programs for the 2011–12 school year:

Public Program Students: Our Public Program is available to students in grades K–12* statewide. Students entering grades 2–5 must have been enrolled in a Florida public school during defined periods during the previous school year or meet other requirements. (See Eligibility for more information.) FLVS will be the student’s school district of record and students will receive a school report card and diploma* from FLVS. Some limitations apply to students entering 12th grade for the 2011–12 school year. Students must meet all public school requirements for attendance and standardized test participation. Students will also need to attend full-time with 6 courses per semester for grades 6–12 or equivalent for K–5.
For Public School students: Your resident school district also is required to offer full-time virtual instruction programs. Many will be using FLVS FT in 2011–12. Home Education Program Students: A full or part-time selection of courses in grades 6–12 is available to any Florida resident student. Students in this program are considered “Home Education” students. Students are still required to register as Home Education students with their resident school district. There are no other eligibility requirements to participate and students are not required to take the FCAT, or complete any Florida End of Course Exams or graduation requirements for high school students. Home education students are not eligible to receive a diploma from Florida Virtual School or for any other services that may be provided to public school students. Students do follow a standard school calendar. Additional courses for students in grades 6–12 who want a more flexible schedule than the FLVS FT 6–12 program are also available through the Florida Virtual School. *FLVS FT Public Program will be accepting students in grades K–12 in the upcoming school year. A diploma option will be added for the 2012–13 school year enabling the first FLVS FT Public graduating class of 2013.

How to Enroll

Step 1: View a detailed overview of both of our programs to understand the differences and choose the best fit for your student.
Step 2: Verify your eligibility by checking the eligibility requirements for FLVS FT to be sure you are eligible to participate in our program.

Enroll Online

To enroll online, you need an e-mail address and regular access to a computer to create an account with us, and to provide us with information about your student(s) and family.

If you are currently enrolled in one of our programs and want to add a student to your family, do NOT use this online enrollment process. Please contact the Enrollment Team through WebMail in the Learning Management System.

Enroll by Mail or Fax

For the fastest enrollment experience, we always encourage our families to complete the enrollment process online. However, if you do not have an email address or regular access to a computer, you may enroll through our offline process. Complete the Enrollment Package Request form to have an enrollment package mailed to you.
