Colorado Connections Academy Field Trips

Colorado CA Students on a Field Trip

Bringing Lessons to Life

From the mystery of the Anasazi at the Manitou Cliff Dwellings to the history of the dinosaur at Triceratops Trail, from the physics behind the Six Flags roller coaster to the geologic forces that created Pikes Peak and the Cave of the Winds, Colorado becomes the classroom at ColoCA.

In dozens of field trips throughout the state, ColoCA integrates Colorado’s cultural, historical and natural resources into our curriculum to bring classroom lessons to life. With the help of Community Coordinators, ColoCA offers students:

  • Eco-tours to caves, rivers, mountains, parks, and trails where they learn the role our unique geography, weather, and natural resources play in our state.
  • Cultural outings that deepen their understanding of art, music, and theater.
  • History tours that vividly trace the impact of the past on the present.
  • Excursions that connect math and science concepts to practical living and working applications.
  • Local outings to farms, parks, and businesses allowing students to connect both with one another and the communities they live in.

While we offer grade-specific field trips, we also provide all-school trips that allow families with multiple students enrolled to participate as a family group. To help high school students exploring career and college options, we offer field trips to colleges and universities, college fairs, and businesses.

Just for fun

At ColoCA, we’re just as committed to students' social and personal development as their academic performance. So we schedule field trips just for fun too, such as:

  • Field days, back-to-school picnics,  and end-of-year events
  • Ice cream socials and bowling and pizza parties
On the road with ColoCA...
