Thanks for your interest in contacting a teacher for more information about Connections Academy. I have worked for Colorado Connections Academy since 2007. This year, I am a lead teacher, and I enjoy teaching 4th and 5th grades. I am excited to work for a dynamic school that is focused on helping students meet their educational goals.

I am drawn to Connections Academy because of the fact that we know that every child has different academic strengths and weaknesses, and our school is perfectly suited to give students and families more academic choices. While we are flexible, we strive for academic excellence. We meet or exceed Colorado State standards while using excellent curriculum and technology to support our educational endeavors.

Not only am I proud to work for this school, but I am also excited to use one-on-one tutoring sessions, group reading lessons, and even LiveLesson® sessions (our online classroom) to help connect with my students. I hope that I can answer your questions so that you can discover if our school is the right fit for you.

I began teaching middle school social studies at Colorado Connections Academy in the fall of 2008, and since then my experience has been nothing but positive. I am able to build strong relationships with not only my students but with parents and Learning Coaches as well. I get to learn the ins and outs of a student’s educational background, and I can take that information to individualize the curriculum to fit a student’s specific needs. I find that I know my families even better than in a traditional brick-and-mortar setting, because I have the time to make that individual contact on a regular basis.

Another thing that I find refreshing about working at Colorado Connections Academy is that the teachers here consistently work together across subject areas to make sure all students are getting the best educational experience. Working in the growing field of online education has been exciting, and I’ve embraced it wholeheartedly. I have thoroughly enjoyed working for Colorado Connections Academy and plan to be a part of this outstanding school for many years to come.

Hi, my name is Greg Terry, and I have been a teacher for Colorado Connections Academy since 2008. Before that, I taught at a traditional brick-and-mortar school. I am one of the high school math teachers here and have taught everything from pre-algebra to calculus. I enjoy all of it.

One of the things that I love about Connections Academy is the collaboration that happens here. I am constantly talking with all of the other high school teachers and working with them at different levels, so that we can meet the wide variety of needs that every student has.

Along with the teacher collaboration, we have great collaboration with parents. At Colorado Connections Academy, we are on the phone daily with our students’ Learning Coaches. This allows us to get to know our students that much more, and in turn enables us to better help them.

I truly believe that our curriculum here cannot be beat, both for college-bound and non-college-bound pupils. I love to watch our students take advantage of our amazing array of AP-level classes and life skills classes.
