Who is eligible to enroll in Colorado Connections Academy (ColoCA), the full-time school?
All students entering kindergarten and first grade are eligible to apply. Kindergartners must be five years old by October 1, 2008. First graders must be six years old by October 1, 2008. All homeschool, private and public school students are eligible to enroll with Colorado Connections Academy in 2008–09.
How many hours of instruction must be provided in Colorado?
The State of Colorado requires that 968 hours of instruction be provided for full-time students in most grade levels. Colorado Connections Academy meets or exceeds this requirement.
What standardized tests are required for students in the full-time Colorado Connections Academy school?
The Colorado Student Assessment Program is given throughout Colorado to students in grades 3 through 10, including Connections Academy students. The test battery assesses Reading, Writing, and Math. In fifth, eighth and tenth grades, the test also assesses Science.
What technology is provided in Colorado?
For Colorado Connections Academy families with children in grades 1–12 for the 2008–09 school year, Connections Academy will provide a loaned desktop computer, printer, and a reimbursement for Internet usage. Families with only kindergarten students are not eligible to receive technology. See the Technology section of the main Connections Academy website for details.
